Three men suspected of committing an armed robbery on Nikkie de Jager and the failed robbery of René van der Gijp are released for the time being. The court has decided that today.
The three will be released for the time being because there is still no insight into the substantive treatment of their criminal proceedings. Four other suspects were released in June. The Public Prosecution Service thinks that the men together form a criminal organization. They are said to have engaged in crimes such as theft, extortion with violence and house robberies last year.
Armed men
Presenter Nikkie de Jager became the victim of such a robbery in August, when four armed men raided her home in Uden. The loot from the robbery included a large amount of valuable jewelry and a Louis Vuitton bag. De Jager followed the session via a video link, writes Broadcasting Brabant.
Football analyst René van der Gijp was attacked in April last year by three masked men. They hit his car with hammers, but left without any loot.
Contact ban
The three suspects will be released tomorrow. They are all banned from contacting co-defendants. They are also obliged to cooperate with the probation service, they are not allowed to commit criminal offenses in the meantime and they must comply with calls from the police and the judiciary.
