The 22-year-old trans daughter of a Brooklyn man who was stabbed to death early Thursday has been charged with her murder after police initially suspected the fatal confrontation was linked to a home invasion.
Nikki Secondino was accused of stabbing her father, Carlo Secondino, who was pronounced dead at their Bensonhurst home around 6am on Thursday, police say.
She was also charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the horrific attack.
The alleged killer’s 19-year-old sister was also stabbed in the incident and was rushed to Maimonides Hospital in critical condition.
Sources told the Post on Thursday that Nikki was suspected of fabricating the false break-in story to cover up her brutal crime.
A neighbor of the Secondinos also said she heard Nikki making a phone call in the hallway after the murder, saying the family had been robbed by invaders who also stabbed them.
Police earlier said two burglars broke into the family’s home on 17th Avenue near 82nd Street and demanded money from a safe before killing the 61-year-old father and wounding the two girls.
Nikki suffered injuries to her hand and was taken to hospital in stable condition, police said.
Nikki is transgender — something her father has argued for, said her father’s employer, Yadira Gomez, who co-owns Mike’s Diner where Secondino worked as a bellhop.
