Film director, actor, producer and president of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia Nikita Mikhalkov was hospitalized with the flu, TASS said, citing its representative.
“Nikita Sergeevich is hospitalized with the flu,” the message states, without disclosing details.
Earlier, the Baza Telegram channel announced that Mikhalkov was hospitalized with covid-related pneumonia and doctors assessed his condition as serious, BTA reported.
Nikita Mikhalkov – son of the poet and author of the anthem lyrics of the USSR and Russia Sergey Mikhalkov and writer, poetess and translator Natalia Konchalovka, is 77 years old. He is the winner of numerous awards, including the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for “Scorched by the Sun”.
Mikhalkov’s first significant role as an actor was in the film “I Walk in Moscow” (1964) by Georgii Danelia. As a director he creates tragicomedies, parables, adaptations, war films.
