The Emeritus Professor of Pathological Anatomy of the University of Ioannina and for many years President of the Board of Directors of the Ioannina Branch of the Hellenic Cancer Society, Niki Agnanti, passed away at the age of 82.
Regarding the deceased, the member of parliament of Ioannina of the ND Maria Kefala states in her message:
“I feel special sadness for the loss of Professor Niki Agnantis, for a woman who dedicated her life to cancer research, who stood by thousands of women and men with cancer, giving hope, courage and life lessons through her everyday life deed and life attitude, as well as through the branch of the Anti-Cancer Society, in which he was President for a number of years. Her loss is huge for the medical community and science. However, the legacy she leaves behind with her work and contribution, which will be remembered forever, is just as huge. My deepest and sincere condolences to her family on her loss. My thoughts are with them and the memories of our beloved Professor will always accompany us. Her memory is eternal”.
The Municipality of Ioanniton expresses its deep sorrow for the death of Niki Agnantis. In his message he states that “Niki Agnanti was one of the most important scientists who passionately served the University and the local community. He was a great man. A man of action and contribution.”
“Niki Agnanti leaves a great legacy. We will honor and remember her. I express my sincere condolences for the loss of a brilliant person such as our beloved Niki” says the mayor Dimitris Papageorgiou in his statement.
