Nike and Adidas argue over ‘knitted sock shoes’ | Financial

The American brand has now gone to the International Trade Commission in Washington. That American body can impose an import ban on Adidas shoes that are made outside the United States.

Breakthrough

Nike calls its own FlyKnit shoes “the first major technological breakthrough in athletic shoe uppers in decades.” The sock-like upper is made from recycled materials. In addition, the top is precisely made to measure and thus waste is saved.

It’s exactly the same with Adidas’ PrimeKnit shoes. However, the German sports brand denies infringing on Nike patents. According to Adidas, PrimeKnit is “the result of years of focused research.”

FlyKnit shoes hit the market in 2012. Adidas released its first PrimeKnit shoes that same year. Since then, the woven shoes have become particularly popular with both companies.
