NIK Becomes TIN, Everyone Pays Taxes?

Jakarta

The use of the Population Identification Number for tax services will soon be realized next year. The NIK, which is usually listed on the KTP, will soon be used as a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP).

Recently, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance several days ago collaborated on data integration with the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registry of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The data integration is in the form of using the Population Identification Number (NIK), Population Data, and Electronic Identity Card (KTP) in DGT Services.

Director of Extension, Services and Public Relations of DGT, Neilmaldrin Noor said this cooperation agreement is a continuation of the cooperation between the two since 2013 which was renewed in 2018.

Neilmaldrin said that one of the goals of this collaboration was to use NIK as an individual Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP).

“This agreement is an addendum to the previous cooperation agreement that was signed on November 2, 2018, which aims to strengthen data integration between the DGT and the Directorate General of Civil and Civil Registrations, especially regarding NIK and NPWP,” said Neilmaldrin in a written statement, Friday (20/5/2022).

Then with this system, does it mean that everyone who has a NIK will become a taxpayer? Go to the next page to get the full answer, yes.
