Nijmegen transporter is seriously concerned about his company, after Russian invasion of Ukraine | Home

Gelderland companies with commercial interests in Ukraine and Russia are concerned about the war that has now broken out there.

“The Russian invasion of Ukraine has major consequences for us,” says Pavel Mikhalevitch of the Nijmegen transport company Imnex Group. ,,Normally we have a trip to Ukraine and Russia almost every day. But we’ve stopped all shipments that way. The situation is now too unsafe for the drivers and the cargo is not insured if it is damaged by war.”

The company does not employ its own truck drivers, but works with local employees. “They are safe, as far as we can tell.”

Imnex mainly drives to destinations in Eastern Europe, especially machines and spare parts. Mikhalevitch: ,,More than half of our turnover comes from transports to and from Ukraine and Russia. I therefore hope that the situation will return to normal soon. But honestly I don’t expect that. I am very concerned about the company.”
