It only took 45 minutes before the 106th edition of the Nijmegen Four Days Marches was sold out this morning. Last year was already a record: 47,000 starting tickets were sold after thirty hours. That record has now been more than broken.
Participants who had already completed a Four Days Marches and young people born between 2006 and 2012 were able to obtain a ticket earlier. As a result, around 39,000 starting tickets have already been issued, more than ever. The remaining 8,000 tickets were for new interested parties.
The sale of those starting tickets started at 10:00 am. At its peak, 21,000 potential participants were in the queue, the organization said. March leader Henny Sackers is proud of the Four Days Marches fans. “The success of 2023 has undoubtedly contributed to the growing popularity of our walking event.”
Transfer
This year, for the first time, walkers can transfer their starting ticket to someone else, writes Omroep Gelderland. This should put an end to complaints about walkers who do not show up at the start on the first day of the Four Days Marches. Last year there were almost 2,500.
You can transfer a starting ticket from Monday next week until May 31 and can only do so via the Four Days Marches website. The walking tour starts July 16.
