Earlier this month wrote The Gelderlander about how officials from the Nijmegen Region Environment Service (ODRN) made agreements with the asphalt industry about how polluting factories could continue to operate as usual for another three years. Otherwise, the reuse of asphalt, an important climate goal, would be endangered. This is remarkable because, among other things, the service must ensure that factories comply with the rules on behalf of the municipality.
