An exceptional event: A wolf arrived tonight (between Friday and Saturday) at the overnight parking lot in the Memissit National Park, tore the tent sheet, bit a girl who was sleeping in it and pulled her out of the tent. The girl’s father woke up and removed him from the place.

A team from Magen David Adom arrived at the parking lot tonight and gave the girl initial medical treatment and from there she was transferred in a light condition to continue receiving treatment and supervision at the Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva. As a result of the unusual event, the parking lot is closed to visitors for the night until the investigation and treatment of the case is completed. The Nature and Parks Authority carries out scans to locate the wolf.

Arnon, the father of the girl who was bitten, says: “We woke up from the girl’s screams and came to her aid, it was very dark. She was dragged inside the sleeping bag. He dragged her something like 15 meters when she screamed and realized what was happening, she tried to fight him. He also grabbed her by the head and then by hand and tried to pull her when I got to him, I shouted and he just left, he came back later and entered another tent, approached the people without fear.”
