Nightjet Rome-Vienna inaugurated, Gualtieri: “It’s a great opportunity to promote European tourism”

“The development of night trains is a European strategic line, sustainable from the point of view of the quality of the journey, it is comfortable to fall asleep in one city and wake up in another. I believe it is a wonderful opportunity to promote exchange and tourism in both directions, because Rome is much loved both in Germany and in Austria”. This was stated by the mayor of Rome Capital Roberto Gualtieri on the sidelines of the presentation of the nightjet train at Tiburtina station. The euronight will have daily departures, at 17:25, from Tiburtina station and will call at Santa Maria Novella, Bologna Centrale, Villach, Klagenfurt, Leoben and Bruck an der Mur. The big news is represented by the fact that in Villach the convoys will ‘separate’: one part will continue the journey towards Vienna, where the arrival is scheduled for 9:04 the following day; while the other will head to Munich, where it is expected at 9:22. On the reverse route, however, it will depart from Bavaria at 20.10 and from Austria at 19.18, to then rejoin, again in Villach, at around 1 in the morning, and head towards the capital, arriving the following day at 11.05.
