The renowned lawyer Jasper Dänert is seriously ill and doesn’t have much time left. But there is something he really wants to do before he dies. In 1992, Jasper, then the public prosecutor in Potsdam, led the investigation into a murder case that particularly affected him. A 16-year-old boy was found dead in a forest. His identity remained unknown, as did that of the perpetrator. Now, almost 20 years later, Jasper is looking for clues again. He wants to ensure that the victim finally receives justice – and the perpetrator. Jasper Dänert has been married to Katharina, a divorce lawyer, for 18 years. The marriage is childless, the partners remain strangers despite their long life together, and they treat each other relatively soberly. During this time, Katharina and the family’s mutual friend, Christian Färber, who is also Jasper’s doctor, became closer. Jasper’s approaching death causes the walls that have built up between Katharina and him over the years to crumble. However, Katharina doesn’t know what motivates Jasper. And she doesn’t know anything about the young police officer Larissa Brandow, with whom he meets regularly. Larissa is supposed to help Jasper solve the long-ago crime. As a girl, she discovered the boy’s body. Initially hesitant, Larissa finally agrees to face the horrors of her childhood. However, the investigations in the Brandenburg province are particularly difficult. A lot of time has passed, witnesses have died, memories have faded. But Larissa also wants to clear up the case, which leads her, among other things, into the prostitute environment. When Jasper’s body no longer obeys him, he has to give up his research. He goes back to Berlin. Larissa continues alone and finds what she is looking for…
