More than 40 cultural institutions in Frankfurt and Offenbach took part: At the 13th “Night of the Museums”, visitors flocked to the museums.
After a three-year break, the night of the museums in Frankfurt and Offenbach attracted a large number of people with a diverse programme. The organizers spoke of around 40,000 visitors who were counted on Saturday evening and Sunday night at the more than 40 venues. They could experience exhibitions, guided tours, performances, live music, film projections and workshops. “Unique exhibits, enthusiastic museum visitors and enchanting moments – after a three-year break, Frankfurt’s diverse museum landscape presented itself impressively at the Night of the Museums,” explained Ina Hartwig (SPD), Head of the Frankfurt Culture Department.
Not only the big houses like the Schirn Kunsthalle or the German Film Institute & Film Museum were particularly popular. Even with special experiences, the rush was great, such as in the otherwise closed Fishermen’s Vault, where visitors could use a flashlight to make their way under the Old Bridge, or at the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, which is normally only open for limited tours.
