The Night hike de Chartres en Lumières, third of the name, is starting to find a nice place in the sun. Finally under the Moon and the stars, since it continues to attract followers over the editions.
A meeting concocted by our colleagues from Republican Echo in collaboration with the ASPTT Chartres who are expecting even more fans this year at the start Saturday November 4, 2023at 8:00 p.m. from the Esplanade de la Cathedral.
Discover the illuminated heritage of Chartres
They were some 2300 last yearthree hundred more than the previous edition, so one could imagine that this edition should target the 2,600 bipeds with wiggling toes, lovers of illuminated heritage.
The departmental daily and ASPTT Chartres have joined forces with the City of Chartres, Carrefour Chartres, L’Odyssée, the French Hiking Federation, France ADOT 28 and the Departmental Council of Eure-et-Loir to prepare again five walks allowing you to discover or rediscover Chartres and its illuminated heritage.
A unique night stroll
Chartres, jewel of Eure-et-Loir, seduces with its thousand-year-old history dating back to antiquity and its emblematic cathedral listed as a world heritage site.Unesco. “Let’s set off to discover this city where history is illuminated through the contemporary art of Chartres en Lumières” invite the organizers.
For this third edition, the five circuits have been revised to take full advantage of Chartres en Lumières.
Ideal for familiesthe journey of 5 kmaccessible to all, is refocused around illuminated monuments, remarkable points and parks in the city center.

Courses for all tastes
From intermediate distances, 8 and 12 km course are the most interesting for admiring the illuminated sites of Chartres in lights.
For the more sporty, the extensions of the circuits 16 and 20 km concocted by the ASPTT will take you to the side of the Odyssey, or even Le Coudray.
Musical entertainment, torches, ephemeral lights and many other surprises will mark the routes. When the walkers return, a snack will be offered to all participants facing the sparkling cathedral in its illuminations.

Registration on site from 2:00 p.m. – participation 4 € (free for children under 14). Information and reservations for groups and associations on 06.41.31.18.69.
Departure at 8:00 p.m. from the cathedral esplanade.
A gift offered to the first 2,000 registrants.
Snack offered on arrival.
Dogs are welcome (kept on a leash).
The use of a flashlight is recommended.
