British television producer Nigel Lythgoe has been accused of sexual misconduct by a fourth woman. The former jury member of the American So You Think You Can Dance was previously sued by three other women, including his colleague Paula Abdul.
According to court documents filed in Los Angeles, the fourth woman feels abused and has suffered from “significant emotional and psychological anguish” since she was allegedly groped by 74-year-old Lythgoe in 2018. The Brit allegedly put her against a wall so that she could not move in any direction.
Abdul publicly accused Lythgoe of similar behavior earlier this year. This is said to have taken place around 2015, during recordings of So You Think You Can Dance in American Idol.
Two former participants of the talent show produced by Lythgoe All American Girl also went to court because he allegedly misbehaved several times during the recordings.
Although Lythgoe stopped working for So You Think You Can Dance – “because this great program has always been about dance and the dancers and that is where the focus should remain” – he denies all accusations.
According to American media, Lythgoe calls Abdul “a well-documented fantasist, who has often told wild stories that are disconnected from reality and are intended to attract attention.”
