Nier: The vending machine from 2017 is far more than just a threshing machine, as it might seem according to the pictures (see our review). He has immense bushy story and ever-changing gameplay, appreciated by more than five million players. The PC version was released only a month after the release of the original console, and players were generally satisfied with it, yet there has been harsh criticism of its authors in recent days.
This is due to the introduction of the game within the subscription Game Pass from Microsoft, which offers more features than the current GOTY version available on Steam. There, players who do not reach for an unofficial patch still have to deal with occasional tearing, lousy support for playing in a window and several other annoying problems.
The version of the game that appeared on the Game Pass is far better tuned, which is taken as an insult by fans who paid the full price for the game. And so some of them do what we’ve been used to from frustrated players in recent years, artificially reduce user rating of the game on Steam.
Within a few days, the game shifted from “Very Positive” (85%) to “Mixed” (56%), which, according to the “bombers”, should probably cause shame in the authors of the game and an attempt to correct this “involuntary injustice”.
Given that other teams are signed under both versions (the original authors from Platinum Games are responsible for the steam, the game pass port was taken care of by the Polish QLOC), it will probably not be so easy, but let’s be surprised.
