In recent days, many developers are sending their fans Christmas greetings – sometimes they do it through a video addressing the audience directly, and sometimes they post regular cards on social media. The creators of NieR decided on the first form of wishes, but their statement is bittersweet for fans of this series.
As you will notice in the material below, it features Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito, who put their whole heart into the NieR brand. The latter decided to ask what plans for the series were floating in Taro’s head, to which the Japanese screenwriter replied shortly: “none”.
This is confirmation that players will not receive NieR 3 in the near future – PlatinumGames decided that there was no point in dragging this universe forever. You never know what the future holds for us, but neither Yosuke Saito nor Yoko Taro are currently developing this IP, so all that remains for the community is to wait for any announcements of a completely new project from gifted creators.
