After a rework of his biggest hit “Pulverturm” by the Brazilian techno great ANNA was released this year and Niels Van Gogh himself covered two of the biggest 90s rave classics, fresh material is now being released. Here comes the trance revolution.
Niels Van Gogh’s new track brings us smooth Uplifting-Trance-Beats with harmonious SuperSaw-Synthieswhich are reminiscent of old trance sounds from the early 2000s. While Van Gogh himself produced something more progressive in the trance peak in Europe at the time, the tide is now changing. An evolution or rather a revolution? The latter can at least be deduced from the title of the single, „Revolution“. In addition to the harmonic synth melody, the trance anthem uses the sample “Viva, viva, la revolución,” which originally comes from the Cuban Revolution in the 1950s. The sample has already been used in numerous electronic music tracks, such as “Viva La Revolucion” by Mr. X & Mr. Y (aka Westbam & Afrika Islam) from 1999. Van Gogh gives the whole thing a completely new surround, which at the same time takes up old 90s and 2000s rave and dance sounds, in keeping with the current trend. Something in between Old- und New-School so. Viva la Uplifting Trance! For fans of new and old sounds Rank 1, Talla 2XLC, DuMonde or Alex M.O.R.P.H.
The single “Revolution” by Niels Van Gogh is out on the 11th. Released October 2024 via You Love Dance.
