After nine MIAs, four ‘Zomerhit’ wins and eight Sportpaleis concerts, Niels Destadsbader has already built up a great career in Flanders. And he can now add a number 1 hit outside our borders.
“Man, man, man. Who the hell would have thought that I would ever score a hit in Suriname? I knew that the song is popular there and is sung a lot. That in itself was crazy to me. But that it is now also number 1 is really unbelievable. I did not expect this at all”, says Niels Destadsbader.
A few weeks ago, Niels flew to Suriname for interviews on local radio stations and with various television crews. He also had a meeting with none other than the president regarding the song.
‘Love for later’ is also in the running to win ‘Zomerhit’.
