The DAAD has approved a sum of one million euros for this. “We are very pleased that we can bundle our teaching skills in the field of smart textiles internationally with the help of DAAD funding. In this way, we can use important synergies with other universities in order to train students in a future economically relevant and interdisciplinary field of application, “says Professor Anne Schwarz-Pfeiffer from the Department of Textile and Clothing Technology, who together with her colleague Professor Ekaterina Nannen from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science had submitted.

With the help of the financial resources, the institutional and structural framework conditions are to be improved and the networks with foreign partners expanded. “This extensive support from the DAAD helps to bring the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences far ahead in the field of internationalization,” says Professor Marion Halfmann, Internationalization Officer at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences.

With the “HAW.International” program, the DAAD supports innovative projects that contribute to the expansion of the internationalization of universities of applied sciences.
