Nino Niederreiter’s Carolina Hurricanes are currently doing very well in the NHL. Against the Nashville Predators, the Hurricanes celebrate their seventh win in a row in a 5-1 win.
In the first third, Carolina made sure things were clear with a 3-0 lead. Nashville, which had to do without the two injured Swiss Roman Josi and Luca Sbisa, was no longer able to react.
In the 1-0 power play after nine minutes, Niederreiter contributed an assist. The native of Graubünden has already scored 17 points in 26 games this season and has thus contributed a lot to the successful winter. With his eleven goals he is behind Vincent Trocheck the second best scorer in the new leader of the Central Division.

Just as successful as Carolina are currently only the New York Islanders, who also ranked the seventh win in a 5-3 win against the New Jersey Devils. The Devils had to do without the injured Nico Hischier again.
Nino Niederreiter was the only Swiss to score on Thursday. Pius Suter and Philipp Kuraschew won with the Chicago Blackhawks away against the Dallas Stars 4-2, but the Swiss duo had no personal sense of achievement – as did Jonas Siegenthaler with the Washington Capitals (5-3 in Philadelphia) and Dean Kukan with the Columbus Blue Jackets (4-5 after extra time against the Florida Panthers).
