The appointment of Nicole Belloubet discredits Gabriel Attal’s educational policy
While Amélie Oudéra-Castéra seemed insipid and one could think that Gabriel Attal, from Matignon, would hold the strings of educational policy, it was a woman who claims to be on the left who was chosen to succeed him. Although Nicole Belloubet assures that she will continue ” Implementation “ measures announced by the Prime Minister when he was in office on rue de Grenelle, all her past makes us fear that she resembles a Pap Ndiaye in petticoats.
Gabriel Attal himself – or rather the senior civil servants who remain in the ministry when ministers pass – seems to have backpedaled on a flagship measure of the “shock of knowledge”: the establishment of level groups in middle school, in French and mathematics. The draft decree relating to the organization of teaching in middle school classes, which was unanimously rejected on February 8 by the Higher Education Council (CSE), a consultative body, presented a watered-down version of its first announcements. The text provided, in article 4, that these lessons are organized “in groups”without the precision “levels”.
This detail is not without importance. The ministry thus hoped to make the pill pass, with most of the trade union organizations calling into question the single college. The SNPDEN, the majority union among management personnel, which had publicly denounced a reform ” contrary to [ses] values »announcing that college principals would refuse to set up level groups, was not mistaken. “The lines have moved a little on the questions of the level groups”declared, on France Info, its national secretary. Everything suggests that with the arrival of Nicole Belloubet, Gabriel Attal’s announcements will remain a dead letter.
Should we remember that, in a 2016 articleshe had denounced the “nonsense about the restoration of authority or the wearing of a blouse” and that she defended the disastrous college reform launched by Najat Vallaud-Belkacem? Gabriel Attal may well declare that“we can have taken positions in the past and have evolved”he can assure that his ministers are “totally aligned” on his position, we can doubt that the promised recovery of the teaching, which could have aroused some hope, is only a flash in the pan which will soon be extinguished or will be drowned in half-measures which will worsen the conditions of teaching more than they will improve them.
We would like to give him credit for sincerity, but we know that everything is decided at the Élysée and that he does nothing without the consent of his master. You would have to be very naive to believe that Macron is, in the field of education, full of good intentions. He changes his Minister of National Education like his shirt, depending on circumstances and by political calculation. Behind the good words, in which it must be recognized that Gabriel Attal is skillful, Macron is in no way the defender of emancipatory knowledge, which should be provided to as many students as possible. The objective of the President of the French Republic, who dreams of presiding over Europe, is to give the people the only skills they need to run the market.
These so-called democrats have a deep contempt for the people, they distrust them like the plague, sheltering their offspring when they have taken the trouble to do so. Their whole art consists of making the French believe that they take care of them when they selfishly only care about their own interests. The string is too big and the deception is revealed more and more.
