Nicolás Petro, the son of President Gustavo Petro, will go to trial for illicit enrichment and money laundering.
According to the defendant, he would be being pressured by the Attorney General of the Nation, Francisco Barbosa, to turn it into a weapon against his father. He thus recorded it in his X account.
With this decision by the accused, the accusation agreement that he had reached with the Prosecutor’s Office is left without foundation.
Upon learning that Petro will go to trial, a fact confirmed through a statement made public by the Attorney General’s Office, it is also implied that Day Vásquez will continue to collaborate with the prosecution.
In that order of ideas, the Barranquilla judicial services center will be in charge of appointing a judge for the trial.
