Books – Marwan Al-Tayeb:
Lebanese artist Nicolas Moawad sparked controversy with his statements while he was a guest on the “Book of Fame” program, presented by Lebanese broadcaster Ali Yassin and shown on the Lebanese “Al Jadeed” channel.
“Nicola” talked about being exposed to sexual harassment by a man in his childhood, and he threatened him so that he would not tell his family, saying: “Statistics say that there are many young men who are exposed to harassment, and our society prevents them from telling their families, and when I spoke for the first time about the issue, I felt that I was speaking for many people.” “I don’t blame my family because, on the contrary, they embraced me very much.”
He continued: “The reason I didn’t say anything was because I didn’t want to upset them or get my parents into trouble because someone was very afraid for us and it was possible that he would kill to protect his family. The harasser said that if I told your father you know, he would come and kill me and go to prison. That’s why I didn’t tell anyone.”
The Lebanese artist Nicolas Moawad succeeded in drawing attention to his talent in acting, and his most prominent participation was in the series “Wanous” with the great star Yahya Al-Fakharani, which was shown in the Ramadan drama season in 2016, and which served as an identification card and artistic birth certificate for the Egyptian audience.
It is noteworthy that Nicolas Moawad is participating in the series “The Assassins”, starring the artist Karim Abdel Aziz, which is scheduled to be shown in the Ramadan drama season for the year 2024.
