The Facebook social network has taken measures against the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro and has suspended him from the platform for a period of 30 days, this due to a reiteration of the policy violations on disinformation related to covid-19, Facebook reported earlier today.
Something similar had already happened to the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, on the Twitter platform, since in both cases the accounts of the representatives were not and will not be eliminated, in the case of Maduro. Only publishing or commenting on the platform is prevented.
“We removed a video posted on President Nicolás Maduro’s page for violating our policies on disinformation related to Covid-19 and that could put people at risk,” said a Facebook spokesperson.
For his part, Nicolás Maduro has already expressed his disagreement and criticized the platform for the removal of a video, which was the cause of the suspension. In the video, the president of Venezuela recommends the use of Carvativir, one more of a series of remedies without a medical basis and that the president promoted as “miraculous droplets” for the treatment of the coronavirus.
