TRNAVA – Argentinian footballer Nicolas Gorosito has become the new reinforcement of Spartak Trnava. The 35-year-old stopper is supposed to replace Lukáš Štetina, whose injury is more serious and will be out longer than expected.
Gorosito worked in the highest Slovak competition already in 2011, when he transferred to Senice. He worked in Slovan Bratislava for the next four seasons. During his career, he played in the Spanish clubs Getafe, Albacete and Alcorcón, and in the second highest Spanish league, he made over a hundred starts. In February, he signed a contract with Dukla Banská Bystrica and played both matches against Spartak.

“I was drawn to Spain again, but I was starting to get nervous. On Friday, I learned that Trnava might need a stopper, and I told myself that if it worked out, I would go for it one hundred percent. In the end, it worked out and it’s unbelievable” Gorosito told Spartak’s official website.
The Argentine is most looking forward to the derby matches against Slovan: “I know these matches from Argentina, Boca, River. It’s like Slovan and Trnava in Slovakia. Who wouldn’t like to play such matches? They are the most important matches for the fans as well and I know it very well. I played them in Slovan, now I signed with Trnava and I will do everything to make it go well. Not everyone can succeed.”
They wanted another replacement, but…
Coach Michal Gašparík emphasized that two weeks ago they were not thinking in this direction and were rather looking for someone younger to Štetin: “Unfortunately, we lost the more experienced one and had to urgently look for a replacement, which was achieved in the person of Gorosita. He showed very well the last six months in Banská Bystrica, he knows Slovak very well, so he can also organize the defense. Nicolas has a good character and it is a winning type, from that point of view he met our requirements. Moreover, he is in good shape for his age and still improves after training. We promise him that he will pass on his experience to the younger ones and immediately help us in difficult matches.”
