Nicolas Gardel to Perform with Thierry Ollé and Jimmy Chambert at the Plancher des Vaches on May 5th

The guest of the next Mensuel Jazz du Plancher des vaches is a regular in our Lot-et-Garonne lands. The trumpeter Nicolas Gardel has already come in 2021 to give swing to the Agenais restaurant. It is at the age of 7 that he begins the trumpet, practically in the cradle! Earliness pays off: he quickly obtains a first prize and joins the class of Albert Calvayrac at the Toulouse Conservatory. A few years later, he was admitted to a jazz class at the Paris Conservatory, where he had the opportunity to work with great musicians like Glenn Ferris and Chris Potter.

In 2005, he joined the Air Force Big Band led by Stan Lafferière. In parallel begins his career as an accompanying musician. He began to work with Yuri Buenaventura, David Sanborn (whom he followed on three European tours), Henri Texier, Electro Deluxe, the Tuxedo Big Band, Zebda… Mainly jazz styles and inspired by popular music, but also classical. Nicolas Gardel played with the Orchester de chambre de Paris and was first trumpet in Michel Legrand’s orchestra.

All these meetings have allowed him to date to carry out many personal musical projects, and to perform on prestigious stages, with an inevitable hook at the Jazz in Marciac festival.

Friday, May 5, he will find his accomplices Thierry Ollé on the organ and Jimmy Chambert on the drums, with whom he had already played for the Floor of cows.
