Covid-19, mpox (monkey pox) and HIV: these viruses ignore all borders. This is all the more true across a territory as dense as Greater Geneva. This is why researchers from the Cross-Border Observatory of Social Inequalities in Health are studying policies to combat HIV on the scale of Greater Geneva. Their first work, published in May 2024, will be discussed at a conference on September 25. The objective: “to fuel discussions to develop common policies to effectively combat new epidemics,” explains Nicolas Charpentier, a sociologist attached to the Institute of Sociological Research at the University of Geneva.
