Nicolas Cage’s Future Plans and Retirement from Filmmaking: A Vanity Fair Interview

“I’m considering maybe making three or four more films,” he explains in ‘Vanity Fair’. “I believe I have taken my filmmaking as far as I could. So now I want to be stricter in my selection process. I want to say goodbye with a successful role,” Cage emphasizes.

Cage adds that his father died at the age of 75, concluding that he may only have fifteen years left to live. “What do I still want to achieve in those fifteen years, if I take my father as an example?” the father of three wonders. “It has become clear to me that I want to spend that time with my family… I am starting to shape my future plans more,” he finally concludes.

Nicolas Cage has already made countless films to his name, but the prolific actor did this for a while to pay off his debts. He previously revealed this in an interview with GQ. He likened his career to a “conveyor belt,” but it was his duty. After bad expenses, five divorces and a hole in his hand, his fortune went up in smoke. His purchasing behavior took on the most bizarre forms, ranging from 15 houses spread across the world to dinosaur eggs and a pet crow. Despite this, he eventually managed to pay off his debts, and now he even seems to be thinking about saying goodbye to the film set.
