Nicolas Cage Reveals His Favorite Films, And They Might Surprise You

If there’s one actor the Internet with a capital I loves, aside from Keanu Reeves (which we don’t quite understand, to be honest), it’s dear Nicolas Cage. Now, if I say to you “Nic Cage”, you think of RockTo Ghost RiderTo Benjamin GatesTo Times/FaceTo Arizona JuniorTo Lord of War or even to Kick-Ass. But these aren’t necessarily his best films — at least, according to him.

Nicolas Cage responds as follows:

“I will start with Pig. It’s the best movie I’ve ever done.

I adore Mandythe film directed by Panos [Cosmatos, ndlr].

I adore At open tomb by Martin Scorsese.

I adore Bad Lieutenant: Stopover in New Orleans.

And I love a movie called Joe directed by David Gordon Green.”

The first two are the recent nuggets of authorship he has been able to offer us, whether it’s on the side of psychedelic horror or intimate drama. The third is a possibly underpriced Scorsese. The fourth is a Herzog not yet cult enough – and is not a sequel to Ferrara. The Last is an underrated drama from the filmmaker behind the recent Halloween trilogy.

If you don’t know what to watch this weekend, here is a very nice list anyway.
