THE BEST PASTRY. This new week of competition for the Best Pastry Chef season 10 was placed under the theme of blood and terror. Find out which candidate was eliminated.

The candidate missed the Cyril test and the creative test, and came at the bottom of the ranking of the technical test of Mercotte. “I’m rather proud of myself, I came with a smile and I’m leaving with a smile,” Nicolas reacted. Mohamed has meanwhile won the blue apron.
Episode summary
For the first event of the evening, Cyril asked the amateur pastry chefs to make a scary cake made from blood orange. Everyone has redoubled their imagination to make pastries, each more realistic than the next, between pieces of brain and demonic clown. Three candidates stood out on this first challenge: Jérémy with his worm pie, even though Mercotte asked him to dare to make something other than pies; Mohamed with his bloody heart larger than life and Alexander with his little monsters. Conversely, three pastry chefs disappointed Cyril and Mercotte: Maud, who had prepared pretty spiders but could not add his blood orange jelly, Paul-Henri whose eye-shaped cake was downright outside theme; but also Nicolas with his creation in the form of an ingrown nail.
Mercotte then unveiled the title of his technical event of the week. The pastry chefs had to prepare a Vampirul Liliac, a dessert full of technical difficulties between the mousse, the meringue, the insert and the tempered chocolate. For the first time since the start of the season, Aya came first with a pastry that is as pretty as it is tasteful. She is just ahead of Alexandre and Maud. At the bottom of the ranking, we find Jérémy whose cake had not taken well and completely collapsed during the tasting. Marion and Nicolas did not convince the jury either.
For the last test, the candidates had to prepare blood-dripping cakes for Cyril and Mercotte, but also Stéphanie Le Quellec. “I want to be afraid but especially to enjoy myself. Avoid scattering yourself in too many flavors”, warned the two-star chef. Aya particularly seduced the jury with her tripe eater “absolutely disgusting” in appearance, but delicious to taste with “clean and frank tastes” according to Stéphane Le Quellec. Maud also pulled out of the game with his wife cut in half. “It saws my legs”, even dropped Cyril. Nicolas, however, did not convince the jury with his rose-scented mummy. “There are too many … It’s a pot pourri”, regretted the chef.

Nicolas left Le Meilleur Pâtissier 2021 after six weeks. The candidate flopped on the test of Cyril and arrived among the last on the technical test of Mercotte. The amateur pastry chef also failed the creative test with an incorrectly dosed rose cake.

Mohamed, who had a great week on the theme ofHalloween, won the blue apron. “Between the heart and the spider you made us sick,” laughed Cyril Lignac.

- Episode 4 of October 28 : The candidates were divided into two North / South teams. For the first event, the North revisited the Bourdaloue tart and the South the lemon tart and the first won. Then, the candidates had to make a Puy de Sancy for the technical test of Mercotte, which the South won. The creative test on the North / South clichés in cake was won by the North, which won the war of the regions. Méryl was eliminated and Aurélie won the blue apron for the second time.
- Episode 3 of October 21 : For this week placed under the sign of music, the candidates had to revisit the Opera, produce a LP for the technical test and stage the song of their choice in the heart of a playful and gourmet creation. Guillaume was eliminated and Marion got the blue apron.
- Episode 2 of October 14: The candidates had to prepare a trompe-l’oeil egg, bake a honey Bzz Bzz cake for the Mercotte technical test and recreate their animal mascot as a cake. Margaux, who simply threw her latest creation in the trash, has been eliminated. Aurélie has meanwhile won the blue apron.
- Episode 1 of October 7: 20 candidates competed in the gardens of the castle to secure their place under the famous Best Pastry chef’s tent. In the end, only 14 participants were selected: Aurélie, Margaux, Maud, Guillaume, Alexandre, Nicolas, Jérémy, Jérôme; Paul-Henri, Mohamed, Anne-Loup, Aya, Marion and Meryl.
What are the new trials?
This season 10 of the Best Pastry Chef will be full of surprises and novelties. Viewers will be able to discover in particular “Who can beat Cyril Lignac”, a technical test launched by Mercotte during which the chef will face the candidates still in the running with a handicap of time and an incomplete recipe.
For this 2021 season, the candidates also receive the visit of unexpected “guests” since on the occasion of the show “When the music is good”, they were judged by Julien Doré and Louane. Other distinguished guests are present during this season such as Pierre Hermé, Christophe Michalak, Christelle Brua, Stéphanie Le Quellec, Thierry Marx or even Jean-François Trap.
