Osnabrück (dpa / lni) – Second division soccer team VfL Osnabrück has terminated the contract with its attacking midfielder Nico Granatowski. The 29-year-old is switching to third division club 1. FC Magdeburg with immediate effect, the Osnabrück team announced on Saturday around the home game against the Würzburger Kickers.
Granatowski switched to the purple-whites in 2019 after the second division promotion from SV Meppen. Last season he was loaned to FC Hansa Rostock for half a year. “We can understand that he is hoping for more playing time with the move. He only had this to a limited extent with us since 2019, also because he was thrown back by one or the other injury, ”said Osnabrück sports director Benjamin Schmedes.
