Nicki Minaj (38) and her husband Kenneth Petty have been sued for intimidation and attempted bribery. The charges come from a woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted by Petty in 1994, for which she is now also suing him.

Jennifer Hough, as the woman is called, states that Minaj and her employees have tried several times to contact her and her family, to get her to make a statement in which she denies the sexual abuse. Hough also says an employee went to her home and offered her $20,000 to sign a document to drop the charges. Minaj would also give her a ‘happy birthday’ video to her daughter in return.
With the lawsuit, Hough also wants to hold Petty responsible for the abuse from 1994. She was sixteen years old when she ran into Petty at a bus stop in Queens, in New York. He allegedly threatened her with a knife and led her to a nearby house. There he raped her, according to the legal documents. Petty, himself 16 at the time of the crime, was quickly arrested and charged. He later accepted an agreement with the prosecutor and pleaded guilty, giving him attempted rape on his criminal record. When the facts surfaced when Minaj began dating Petty in 2018, the rap star said Petty had been falsely accused and claimed that Hough had written a “letter to withdraw her accusation”.
Since refusing to withdraw the charges, Hough has moved three times in a few months and changed her phone number, the complaint says. She has been out of work for over a year and suffers from depression and paranoia.
