Nicki Minaj and her husband sued for abuse

It was back in 1994 that Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, was convicted of attempted rape. The woman who was tried for rape has now filed a lawsuit against the couple because they allegedly harassed her, and tried to get her to withdraw the allegations against Petty.

It writes among others BBC.

Petty spent four and a half years behind the walls after admitting the attempted rape of the woman, who was then a teenager. Last year, he ended up in the police spotlight again when he did not registered as a sex offender when he moved from New York to California. It was this that should have made Nicki Minaj contact the woman.

In the lawsuit, she claims that Minaj offered her $ 500,000 through an intermediary, in exchange for her withdrawing the charges against her husband.

It further states that shortly after Petty’s arrest in 2020, the middleman is said to have given the woman’s number to Minaj. The rapper is then said to have called and offered to fly the whole family of the woman over to Los Angeles if she could “help”.

The offer was rejected.

According to the lawsuit, the woman allegedly told Minaj:

“I need you to know, woman to woman, that this happened.”

The woman further claims that in the days after the offer was rejected, she and her family received a number of harassing phone calls and unwanted visits. She says she has not been able to work since May 2020.

This is due to deep depression, paranoia, harassment and threats from the celebrity couple and their circle.

The lawsuit also states that the woman now lives in hiding, because she fears revenge. Minaj’s lawyers have not yet commented on the allegations, according to US media.

Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty started dating in 2018, and a year later they announced that they were married. Together they have an 11-month-old son.

Petty has also been in jail for seven years for murder.
