Nicke Widyawati wins Inspirational Female Figure Award in the Energy Sector

PT Pertamina (Persero) President Director Nicke Widyawati won the Inspirational Female Figure in the Energy Sector at the detikcom Awards 2024 Under Nicke’s leadership, Pertamina is changing by making the energy transition and increasing the production of new, renewable energy .

So that Pertamina always produces quality and superior products. This was possible thanks to the figure of Nicke who succeeded in motivating all levels and employees at Pertamina, to always be innovative in improving the quality of the product so that it is directly proportional to the increase in company profits.

Nicke was successful in overseeing the transformation of Pertamina into an Oil and Gas Holding and several sub-leases. In the last five years, Pertamina has succeeded in taking over the operation of Rokan Block, which was managed by a foreign company for 97 years. The bloc contributes around 25% of national production.

During that time he was also successful in carrying out 9 strategic refinery revitalization and modernization projects. Projects carried out include PLBC Langit Biru Cilacap, Renewal of TPPI OSBL, Green Refinery Cilacap, RDMP Balongan, RCC Balongan, Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel, Upgrade of Dumai, Senipah Pipeline Balikpapan, and Renewal of TPPI ISBL.

“We have made various efforts and we have produced results, one of which is the Biodiesel B35 program every year. With this program we have reduced emissions by 34.9 million tons of CO2. Exchange savings foreign of IDR 122 trillion. We will continue with this,” said Nicke when he received the 2024 detikcom Awards at The Westin, Jakarta, on Thursday (17/10/2024).

Nicke is also included in the list of the 100 most influential women in the world or the most powerful women according to Fortune Magazine 2023, in 67th place to be precise. She is the only woman in the ASEAN region to be included in the list.

Nicke Widyawati is also on the list of 100 influential women in the world (the 100 most powerful women in the world) according to Forbes in 2023. She is one of the two most influential Indonesian women on this list. Nicke is ranked 51st and the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Sri Mulyani is ranked 47th.

Before that, she was also included in the Fortune and Forbes list of influential women around the world for three consecutive years in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Not only that, throughout 2023, PT Pertamina (Persero) recorded a total profit of US$ 4.77 billion or approximately Rp. 72.7 trillion (assuming the exchange rate of Rp. 15,255). This profit increased by 17% compared to the 2022 profit of IDR $3.81 billion.

Pertamina’s profits continue to increase. In 2023, the total profit earned will be US$ 4.77 billion. This figure is up 17% compared to 2022 of US$ 3.81 billion. In 2021, the company posted a net profit of US$ 2.05 billion.

Nicke promotes Pertamina’s various measures and programs to decarbonize the industry, make the energy transition and increase the production of new renewable energy.

Nicke’s role in implementing ESG throughout its business operations has resulted in Pertamina being recognized as the world’s number one ESG leader in the Integrated Oil and Gas sub-industry. Pertamina leads the highest score of 61 global companies based on a rating from the ESG Assessment Institute Sustainalytics.

Nicke’s leadership has led Pertamina to successfully break a new record as the company that won the most Gold PROPERs in Indonesia. Pertamina with its subsidiaries and affiliates successfully won 34 Gold PROPER awards in the 2023 KLHK Company Performance Evaluation Program in Environmental Management (PROPER).

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry also presented 76 Green PROPER awards to various Pertamina operating units. Pertamina Group’s Gold PROPER performance this year increased significantly compared to last year, which was 20 Gold PROPER. Nationally, Pertamina succeeded in winning 43% of Gold PROPER out of a total of 79 Gold PROPER in 2023.
