“Nick Kyrgios Mourns the Loss of His Grandmother”

Nick Kyrgios shared very sad news as his grandmother passed away. In 2016, Kyrgios’ grandfather lost his battle with cancer. After the death of Kyrgios’ grandfather, the Australian tennis star was hit very hard.

In Greek, the word “Yiayia” means grandmother. “Seems like I can’t take a break at the moment. RIP Yiayia, the best we could wish for. Now enjoy your time with Papou”Kyrgios captioned his Instagram post.

Kyrgios receives support from his girlfriend, fans and friends

Shortly after Kyrgios announced his grandmother’s death, he received messages of support from all sides.

“Thank you for all the love. I won’t lie, it’s pouring at the moment. Energy seems to be everywhere” Kyrgios titled his Instagram story. As Kyrgios mourns the loss of a loved one, Australian tennis legend Pat Cash has lavished praise on his compatriot.

Cash, the 1987 Wimbledon champion, praised Kyrgios for improving his concentration and reaching his first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon 2022. Cash also hopes Kyrgios will achieve more notable Grand Slam results. “I said this many years ago: if Nick can improve his mental capacity to the point where he can only focus on games by 5% a year or 3% a year, then he will be a contender for the Grand Slams. “And that’s exactly what he did.

He did really well in that regard. He realizes that he will never be perfect and that he will explode and lose his temper. I’m certainly someone who did this, but not out of disrespect.

Of course, at one point I yelled at my coach in frustration, but if you ask Marcus how many times I’ve done this, he can count on the same hand. But there wouldn’t be a set without him (Nick Kyrgios) doing it a few times.

I’ve done it a few times throughout my career. I think John certainly pushed the envelope more than he should have done, more than was allowed. I have no doubt. He got away with a lot.

And Nick plays the victim very well too, like “everybody’s after me and nobody likes me.” That’s not true at all. It’s just all in his head,” Cash said on the Control the Uncontrollables podcast.
