Because Hayao Miyazaki lets him dream, Sergio Leone makes him sweat and Stanley Kubrick demands his brains: That’s why Benjamin loves the cinema!

So far it was not known whether Samuel L. Jackson will also star in “Captain Marvel 2” aka “The Marvels”. But a new tweet from the actor leaves little else to say than that Nick Fury is returning for the MCU sequel.

Disney and its affiliates.

As Nick Fury, Samuel L. Jackson is one of the key players in the MCU. While he mostly only directed the fate of the Avengers in the background, he threw himself in the middle of the action for “Captain Marvel” and took on the male lead alongside the title character played by Brie Larson. So far it was not entirely clear whether the actor would return for the sequel. But now Samuel L. Jackson has apparently confirmed his appearance in “Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels”.

Samuel L. Jackson’s hidden message to Marvel fans

Just yesterday (August 12), the MCU star posted a photo of a prosthetic beard on Instagram and announced his return as Nick Fury. That he was actually referring to the “Captain Marvel” sequel “The Marvels” was not entirely clear. Finally, Samuel L. Jackson plays the SHIELD agent with the eye patch again in the upcoming Disney + series “Secret Invasion”.

But today he added a tweet that at first glance has nothing to do with Marvel. After all, he is only presenting a “Pulp Fiction” fan shirt here, referring to the artist who created the motif. But Jackson hid a small detail in the post that was probably placed there as a confirmation of his appearance on “The Marvels”. The hashtags also include #themarvels.

In any case, we can’t think of any other reason why the actor should use this hashtag in this post. Especially since his picture the day before already indicated the return of Nick Fury.

This is “Captain Marvel 2: The Marvels”

In “The Marvels” the story of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) from “Captain Marvel” is told. This time it doesn’t go back to the 90s, instead the film plays normally in the presence of the MCU. Captain Marvel won’t be the only heroine we’ll see. Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) from “WandaVision” and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) alias Ms. Marvel, who will get her own Disney + series beforehand, also have leading roles.

The German theatrical release of “The Marvels” is November 10, 2022.
