Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok once had a household with Veronica Tan, before remarrying Puput Nastiti Devi.
Ahok and Veronica officially divorced in 2018 after rumors of Veronica’s affair with a man spread to the public.
After investigating, it turned out that it was Nicholas Sean, the eldest son of Ahok and Veronica, who asked for the divorce to happen.
Not without reason, Sean admitted that his father and mother were no longer suitable to live together because they often quarreled.
“Yes (I asked both of them to divorce). Because if the two of them are not compatible, why fight every day,” Sean said in an interview in Melaney Ricardo’s YouTube video which was seen Saturday (9/4).
Although he wanted his parents to separate for the common good, Sean did not deny that it took him a long time to come to terms with his family’s situation.
He has recently been able to accept the situation so that he can find peace in his life.
“I just accept how it should be. Things I can control, I just accept it. Finally I know this is life and take advantage of the loss,” he explained.
Ahok and Vernoica married in 1997. From this marriage, they have three children, Nicholas Sean Purnama, Nathania Purnama, and Daud Albeenner Purnama.
Since separating from Veronica in 2018, Ahok remarried to Puput Nastiti Devi in 2019 and has two children with the former policewoman.
