NiceHash bypasses Lite Hash Rate throttling of virtually all RTX 30 graphics cards – Computer – News

The NiceHash software developers have developed the protections of almost all Nvidia video cards with Lite Hash Rate manage to avoid. The cards’ full computing power can now be leveraged with their QuickMiner crypto mining software.

How NiceHash managed to disable the mining rate restrictions, mentions it doesn’t. Earlier, the NBMiner developers came up with software that makes 68 percent of the hashrate of the video cards in question managed to recover to win, but NiceHash manages to tap the full 100 percent. In a screenshot, NiceHash shows a QuickMiner installation that uses 100 percent of an RTX 3080 Ti, with a resulting hashrate of 120.12MH/s. Benchmark.pl confirms this with their own tests.

Excavator is the name for the NiceHash QuickMiner, a tool intended for the novice cryptominer. This is more limited in its functionalities compared to the NiceHash Miner, but also easier to use. The tool supports overclocking profiles, CPU mining and can mine both Bitcoin and Ethereum.

NiceHash goes on to say that the NiceHash Miner will also receive support for the full hashrate of the Nvidia cards in the near future. First they want to give QuickMiner full support; that software only supports the LHR bypass in a release candidate† They do not provide a timeline.

The only exceptions to the LHR bypass are the GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 3080 12GB. According to NiceHash, those cards have LHRV3 on board; the rest of the cards then presumably LHRV2. The PriceWatch shows that affiliated web stores currently offer a total of 101 products met Nvidia’s LHR technology and 603 products without LHR. Lite Hash Rate is a phenomenon found only in video cards in the RTX 30 series.

Tweakers wrote a backstory about Nvidia’s relatively new measure to prevent mining with its GeForce video cards. The intended purpose of Lite Hash Rate is to make the video cards less attractive to crypto miners and thus make the products more affordable for gamers.
