Even if it will not reach the playoffs, the Nice club played this Saturday its 24th league match in Haute-Marne
A few days after their home defeat against Tourcoing (0-3), the NVB moved to 3rd in the standings: Chaumont Volley Ball 52.
The Haut-Marnais club unfortunately inflicted a third consecutive defeat on the Riviera club, the second defeat in a row without scoring a single set. The Eagles had however started their meeting well in a balanced first set act until the victory in the tie-break of Chaumont (27:25). In the second set, the locals showed their superiority by undermining the Côte d’Azur defense (25:15). Even if the outcome of the match already seemed sealed, the NVB fought in the third set without winning it (25:22).
Dry defeat, but without importance for the championship. However, a new setback against Toulouse (March 18 in Nice) could undermine the confidence of the people of Nice before the Coupe de France final against Tours.
