Nice: The perpetrator’s note, the hospitalization in the psychiatric hospital and the threats – 2024-03-05 10:36:00

Complaints of abusive behavior had been made against the 64-year-old who cold-bloodedly executed his son-in-law in Nice, in front of his children, while he was on his way to work. The perpetrator, after executing the 39-year-old, committed suicide with the weapon he was holding.

The victim’s wife emphasizes that the perpetrator was following them and threatening that blood would be spilled. “All I want to report is that this man who killed my husband today and destroyed us, threatened us and his we had filed a complaint at the Thessaloniki Prosecutor’s Office” describes the woman speaking to Live News.

«He had been taken to the mental institution and while we had given statements about how abusive he was, they called us from the psychiatric hospital and told us that he has no problem and will be discharged. I tell them “he has threatened to spill blood” and they tell me that he has no problem” it shocks.

“Doesn’t this man who destroyed our family have a problem? From whom should I ask for responsibility who was walking around free? We also told the police. I don’t know who let this man out. It’s the only reason I came out. Who do I hold accountable?” he repeats, unable to believe what has happened.

«I was hit by shrapnel. If my son was together what would happen? Because someone signed that this man is fine? And they called me. My husband was 39 years old and a very good man,” she says with tears in her eyes.

The 64-year-old’s handwritten note

From the first evidence of the investigations, it appears that the 64-year-old had pre-planned the murder of the 39-year-old, while the decision to end his life had also been made.

A handwritten note was also found in the perpetrator’s car. In it he had written that he is leaving the vehicle and all the things in it to his sister’s son-in-law.

The image inside the car, according to Giorgos Kalliakmanis, was as if he lived inside it. It had clothes, suitcases, a lot of clutter and it was dirty.

He lived in the car

The police speculate that from the day he came to Athens, the 64-year-old lived and slept in his car. From a receipt of purchase located it appears to have been in Athens since at least February 23rd.

The Police speculate that the 64-year-old may have rehearsed the execution or tried in the previous days to kill his son-in-law but for some reason did not do it.

However, he seems to have been aware of the victim’s movements every morning. That is, shortly after 8 o’clock he leaves the house, opens the garage, takes the car out, gets out and closes the garage door. Just then, she attacked him.

At the same time, what emerges is that the 39-year-old basically had no contact or association with his 64-year-old father-in-law. His wife had left Thessaloniki many years ago to study in Athens and to escape her father’s abusive behavior.
