The event brings together several hundred thousand people. The Nice Carnival is looking for musicians, composers, artists … to compose the official anthem who will accompany a “Carnival King’s march”, for the 2022 edition and all those that will follow.
A hymn for “a march of the Carnival King”
A call for candidates is therefore launched by the City of Nice. On the occasion of Carnival, the City is looking for people for the musical composition of a “King Carnival March”.
It will be used for the promotion and communication of the event but also for accompanying music for the king’s chariot. And the town hall adds “with the transfer of the rights of exploitation, distribution, adaptation and use in any form and any medium for a period of 10 years”.
The proposed work must be submitted under a precise shape :
– A recording (Wave or MP3 format) of the complete work on material support (USB key or CD), made with MIDI and / or acoustic sounds
– With the conductor
– A technical sheet presenting the style, shape and instrumentarium used
– The text of the lyrics in French / Nice.
The City expects a work of “a festive and joyful character” and must be aimed “at audiences of all generations and without cultural borders”.
