Where do you pay the highest home insurance in France? A study by the company Acheel shows that the figures vary almost by a factor of two depending on your geographical location!
Before you move into a house or apartment, you must subscribe to home insurance. But depending on your city of residence, this will not cost you the same amount, far from it.
This is what we learned from a study that was carried out by Acheela new generation insurance company, and shared with the specialist magazine My Building.
Based on an analysis of 200,000 contracts, the company identified the great difference in prices between French regions. The differences are mainly explained by exposure to threats, burglaries, vandalism or climate risks.
More than 70 euros difference between major cities
And these differences can go from simple to double: if we take the case of cities with more than 100,000 souls, Paris is the most expensive city, since they cost an average of 148.15 euros per year . This is almost twice as much as in Rennes, the cheapest in this regard (75.10 euros).
As densely populated urban areas are more suitable for criminal activities, we note that there are three municipalities in Ile-de-France in the podium. In addition to the capital, we found Montreuil (141.74 euros) and Boulogne-Billancourt (141.10 euros). In fourth place is the most populated city in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Marseille.
Nice 7th in the ranking
With insurance valued at 138.14 euros, the city of Marseille is ahead of Saint-Denis (135.16 euros). And to continue this movement of the towns of the south-east, Nice is not far behind. On the Baie des Anges, this expenditure is estimated at 132.26 euros, the seventh highest total, well ahead of the eighth, Nîmes (124.85 euros).
By reading these results, it is easier to understand why our regional community, with its counterpart in the Ile-de-France region, is the most expensive in the country for its place- to protect residence. It is even alone at the top of the ranking for houses (213.10 euros), ahead of Occitanie and Ile-de-France with almost ten euros. The latter is still first for apartments, but our sector is just behind (127.66 and 126.83 euros respectively).
If we also take into account the very high rent used in Nice, we understand that the housing budget has a big impact.
Let’s say that 2025 should see the level of insurance increasing even more, and we get a situation that is not very encouraging at first glance, even if it is possible to compare offers and introducing competition to reduce the bill.
