The last days, following numerous denunciations from local residents, the police multiplied the rounds in the sensitive neighborhood of La Bouletterie in Saint-Nazaire. Saturday March 12, in the middle of the afternoon, in the stairwell of a public housing building, they spot two men in the middle of a transaction. The buyer manages to flee, but the 18-year-old seller is arrested. On him, the investigators discovered several sachets of drugs intended for resale and 2,310 euros in cash.

Quickly, his presumed supplier was identified and then arrested on Monday, March 15. Aged 22, he is already well known to the police and likely to be part of the “inner circle” of Bouletterie dealers. During the search of his home, the investigators found the keys to a cellar located in the neighboring district of La Chesnaie . This is where the alleged trafficker stores his merchandise. The police discovered 8 kg of cannabis, 1.6 kg of cocaine, 500 grams of heroin, 140 pieces of ammunition, a flashing light and packaging material.
Proof that the traffickers are more and more organized: the drugs are packed in colored sachets bearing the same logo “is an increasingly common way for dealers to build customer loyalty by creating a form of branding like a business” explains an officer. An ink pad intended for loyalty cards was also found. The market value of the seized goods is estimated at 170,000 euros. Of the three suspects placed in police custody, two were brought to court on Tuesday in Saint-Nazaire. A judicial inquiry has been opened. The main suspect has been imprisoned. The other was placed under judicial supervision.
