Nice and Real Sociedad accepted the draw (1-1) in a match on the first day of the Europa League soccer match played at the Allianz Riviera in the aforementioned French town.
The match started very quickly, with two teams willing to propose their game from the beginning. Thus came the first chance of the match, after the second minute, with Youssoufa Moukoko who shot wide of Álex Remiro’s goal.
Nice and Real Sociedad accepted the tie
Real wanted to replicate, with Brais Méndez looking for Mikel Oyarzabal inside the area, although the poor control of the captain Txuri Urdin allowed the French defense to clear the ball.
Nice and Real Sociedad accepted the tie. With the drop in pace, the visiting team knew how to take the helm of the match. That’s when an error in his own half and the subsequent theft by Brais, including driving, provided an assist for Ander Barrenetxea to shoot the rival goal from outside the area.
With the realistic goal on the verge of the halfway point, Real knew how to maintain possession, and therefore control of the match, with a Nice team that could not find a way to generate danger in the rival area.
The local team began to despair, minutes that Real took advantage of to look for their options on the counterattack, in fact, Mikel Oyarzabal was on the verge of extending the distance, after a pass that left the Eibar player alone, although a good Jonathan Clauss arrived to save repel a clear throw.
Everything indicated that Real would go into the break ahead on the scoreboard, although a gift in Aihen Muñoz’s clearance led to Nice’s goal, the work of Pablo Rosario. A bucket of cold water for a Real team that played better in the first 45 minutes.
Upon returning from the locker room, Nice confirmed that that goal in extremis gave them extra motivation. In a corner, Jon Pacheco committed a clear penalty for grabbing Dante. And they say that it is in the face of adversity that heroes become great, and Remiro chose to subscribe to that idea and stop the maximum sentence on Evann Guessand.
A second half much more difficult than the first, in which opportunities were conspicuous by their absence. What’s more, not much happened until the 83rd minute, when Jon Mikel Aramburu took a cross ball in the area, and with the possibility of finishing at will, he threw the ball well over the crossbar.
There was no time for more and both teams tied the game (1-1) in the first match of the Europa League, which, for sure, will taste better for Real than for Nice after the penalty missed by the locals.
