Firefighters were in the process of controlling a fire ravaging a grocery store in Nice. The origin of the fire is yet to be determined, according to the union SGP Police Unit 06, while the business was on the ground floor of an eight-story building.
The firefighters were also responsible for evacuating the residents from the floors, and it was at this time that a police officer of the anti-crime squad, who came to secure the operation, was wounded by a projectile throw in the forehead.
The agent was taken to the emergency room of the Nice hospital for treatment. The SGP Police 06 unit union specifies “that it came close to being seriously injured in the eye”. A complaint has been filed.
Almost 1,000 m2 gone up in smoke
As for the fire, part of the 1,000 m2 of the grocery store was devastated. The residents of the building were evacuated in time, then were able to return to their apartments once the fire was completely extinguished.
