Nicaragua reiterates solidarity and permanent support for Venezuela – 2024-08-03 14:19:47

The Government of Nicaragua today reiterated its solidarity and ongoing support for Venezuela and ratified its recognition of the electoral results of the presidential elections held on July 28.

In a statement, the Sandinista government described the South American nation as heroic and told the international community that the country had provided leading support to Venezuelan families, the Bolivarian Revolution and President Nicolás Maduro.

“By proudly recognizing this process of sovereign democratic dignity of our sister Venezuela, we extend our solidarity and permanent support in all circumstances and in the face of the challenges of the cruel and miserable aggressions of the empires and their lackeys,” he stressed.

The text, signed by President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, noted that they have shared such challenges and aggressions and have always emerged victorious.

He added that justice, reason, light and truth belong to the peoples of the world who are fighting for a model of fraternity and respectful cooperation, harmony and the common good.

“With all our love, always together and always beyond!

“Blessed be the perpetual flame that shines from the deep love of our peoples! Blessed and praised be the God of all victories!” he concluded.

According to the second bulletin released by the National Electoral Council of Venezuela, with 96.87 percent of the votes transmitted, the people elected the candidate of the Great Patriotic Pole, Nicolás Maduro, as president, with six million 408 thousand 844 votes (51.95 percent).

His closest rival, the opposition candidate from the Democratic Unitary Platform, Edmundo González, received 5,326,102 votes, representing 43.18 percent of the ballots.
