Niantic just announced an Ed Sheeran collaboration event!

There was already a teaser of Ed Sheeran for Pokémon GO the day before yesterday, but we didn’t know then that there was really going to be a whole event. Now we know, because the Ed Sheeran collaboration event has been announced! And that includes the following bonuses and details:

• The event will run from Monday, November 22 at 8:00 PM to Wednesday, November 30 at 10:00 PM
• You can watch a special appearance by Ed Sheeran during that time via the in-game news
• During the event, water starters will take center stage as Ed Sheeran always chooses water Pokémon as his starter
• Take a snapshot every day for a surprise
• In the evening you will hear Overpass Graffiti as game music during the event
• Totodile, Mudkip, Piplup and Oshawott are common in the wild
• Sunglasses Squirtle and Froakie are also found in the wild, but less often
• You can get Sunglasses Squirtle from special Field Research Tasks
• A special jersey will be available during the event that you can claim with the following code: VVM87WGMMUZHTB8X
• Special water stickers are available from gifts, Pokéstops and in the store
• There is a free box available containing a Lure Module, 20 Pokéballs, 10 Razz Berries and 10 Pinap Berries

We’re really curious about the Ed Sheeran collaboration event, but love that Niantic is looking for new ways to hold events in the game in this way!
