Well yes, and this crazy profile belongs to one of the protagonists of No joke, the most watched movie on Netflix this weekend, the Spanish comedy directed by Colombian Fernando Ayllón that tells the peculiar story of several couples who participate in therapy in a hotel to save their marriages.
One of the protagonists of the film, the actor Goyo Jiménez, has confessed this strange role of double agent, lawyer-actor, in an interview in The world. Although he is best known for his comedic side – he studied Law at the same time as Dramatic Art – he takes the job of making people laugh very seriously. He says that he got to the humor to flee from bullying. “I used it as a defensive weapon. I was a kid with glasses and a nerd and humor was my way of defending myself,” he explains. And he adds: “It’s a useful front, but most of us comedians lock up a serious and depressed guy.”
Thanks to the program Comedy club, Goyo achieved fame as one of the most prominent stand-up comedians in Spain, along with Dani Rovira and Ernesto Sevilla. But, his life is not only focused on his comedy shows. The comedian has a small production company and has worked on other comedies such as The proclamation. In addition, he also collaborates in the morning radio program of Carlos Alsina.

Goyo combined the studies of Dramatic Art with Law, something striking for many. In an interview for The world, recognized that “He has performed for judges of the National Court, some guys with an incredible sense of humor, and it worked because I studied Law”. For him, it is important to have knowledge about what he is going to deal with in the show or in character. In fact, for the role in No joke he was watching several hours of programs of the heart.

“I accumulated all my working hours in three and a half days. I got up at four in the morning and filmed for 14 hours, because I had to return for my performances,” he explains in the interview.
