Montreal hockey player Cole Caufield will undergo surgery on his right shoulder on Wednesday and will not play in the NHL this season. If his club was realistically in the game for promotion to the playoffs, he would postpone the intervention until a later date, according to his own words.
“I didn’t want to interrupt the season, but I have to think about my long-term health. Since we are far from the bars guaranteeing participation in the playoffs, I decided to go for surgery.” Caufield declared.
Coach Martin St. Louis revealed that the striker was already injured at the beginning of the season, but played through the pain. Caufield is the Canadiens’ leader with 26 goals and second with 36 points in 46 games.
